District 10 Concerns - December 31, 2005

All Branch Presidents:

As you probably know by now, I am the newly elected director of District 10. I consider it an honor and priviledge to serve in the position, and I am looking forward to working with you. As director, I plan to follow the direction of and be supportive of the State President, and I trust that you will do the same.  We have much to do and, by working cooperatively, I am confident that we can accomplish all we set out to do. I have outlined several concerns that must be at the forefront of our thinking and planning as we begin the New Year.

All branches are asked to increase their membership by at least twenty percent during the next year. I believe this is an achievable goal, and one that each Branch must work at earnestly. Beware that Branches below fifty members are at risk of loosing their charter.

Because of the financial status of the state conference, all branches are asked to pay their Humanitarian Assessment as soon as possible. This will require some individual as well as group effort.

It is our expection that all Branches will send at least one delegate to the Regional meeting, which will be held in Charlotte this year. Ideally, each Branch will send a minimum of two delegates.

I am requesting that all presidents send me a monthly report highlighting and outlining Branch activities every month. This report will give me some insights into your progress, and allow me to think about ways I may be able to contribute to your efforts.

I look forward to working with you during the next two years. We can make this the best District in the North Carolina State Conference. I can only be successful as the District 10 Director if you are successful as the Branch President. If I can be of assistance to you or the Branch, please feel free to contact me at either:

Please check the website for monthly updates on resources and key activities for District 10. If you have not already scheduled a time for me to meet with your Branch, please contact me as soon as possible to schedule that meeting. My plans are to meet with every branch before the end of the first quarter.

I look forward to working with you and wish you much success in all of your efforts to bring information and resources to the people of our great nation. Please know that your efforts will help to create a better world for generations to come.

Yours in the struggle,

Mary E. Perry,

District 10 Director
