Rev. William Barber Candidacy
I understand that there is some discussion in the state about Rev. Barber being a Republican. For the record he is a registered democrat. However, the NAACP does pride itself on being a nonpartisan organization. Also for tax purposes, it has to be nonpartisan. The candidacy for NAACP state president race should not be about Republicans or Democrats but about issues related to NAACP, integrity, ethics and moral standings.
For the record, Dr. Benjamin Hook, the Former National NAACP President is a life long Republican.

Nifong
| I read that the NAACP want all involved of the DUKE case to stop speaking publicly about the case so that no rushes to judgement for either side. I think the NAACP should talk to Rev. Al Sharpton on this because hours after something happens to an African American by a police officer or a white he is on the new within hours. Where was Rev Al when the off duty Paterson NJ police officer was shot and killed while ordering food. No where to be found because it was most likely Black on Black and that won't give him enough publicity. He is all about hating the white man and is a border line racist towards white's. I think the NAACP is a great organization that has done great thing over the years to help African Americans but Rev Al does not care about anything but himself. |

Duke Lacrosse case
The NAACP is obviously afraid of the outcome of the Duke Case. If the NAACP rushed to judgment and assumed guilt before analysis of the facts as a Charter Member from Massachusetts (the original chapter) the N. Carolina chapter should be completely reorganized and censured for a time. This is a travesty of justice and we should know better. All of the instances and situations and circumstances that have found us on the outs with true American justice, why would we incorporate the same racist tactics. I am personally ashamed of the N. Carolina NAACP and how they have acted during this trial which deserves them no respect. I never thought I would consider an NAACP Chapter to be Hate-Mongers. But since I have substantially contributed to my chapter as well as national, I will add that “Whoever pays the piper, calls the tune.”

Duke Case
I am very disappointed in the lack of support that the Durham County NAACP has given former D.A. Mike Nifong during his Ethics hearing.
From the beginning of this case representatvies faces were plastered any and everywhere a camera or reporter was located. Now, where is everyone???? I felt that the NAACP should have been present and vocal in supporting Mr. Nifong since he not only put his reputation but his career on the line to support not only this now discovered "BOGUS" rape case but his support for the africian american community and now the same community could not support him?!?!?!
My faith in the NAACP is no more, I now see the organization as a popularity contest and the opportunity to get on T.V. !! The organization ESPECIALLY the Durham branch need to step its game up!!!!!! |

The NAACP is dishonest and happy to be that way
The Duke lacrosse case has been settled. There was no credible evidence. The former DA and the Attorney General have confirmed this. Yet your website talks about a mountain of physical evidence.
Your website contains lies that you know are there and you have failed to remove. The only conclusion to be drawn is that the NAACP is content to be dishonest as long as it suits your agenda.
No organization that acts in such a manner is worthy of any respect whatsoever. Your group is plainly dishonest. As a result nothing on your website and nothing you say or do can be accepted as truthful. |

Historically Black Colleges
| Greetings and Happy New Years! I am currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I am doing research for my internship with my schools' department of Multicultural and Minority Affairs Office. The focus of my research is to uncover why Historically Black Colleges do not have Departments dedicated to multicultural and minority issues. I feel that these instutitions of higher learning should have equal representation for all ethnic backgrounds, religion, sexual preference, and ideologies. But, unfortuantely this is not the case and I would appreciate any insight into why this matter has not been an issue for these fine institutions. Thank you for your time. Tho Vo. While I am NOT an Obama supporter, I think the ad is a nasty attempt to continually be-rate this man.
People in NC should contact local TV stations requesting them to pull the ad or start boycotting the stations. Boycott businesses. Get on record as not supporting any republican candidate, including the chairman of NC NAACP

Telephone Numbers changed or disconected
| I have tried to call at least 3 different numbers on the NC chapter in Cabbarus,Mecklenburg & Gaston county and either the numbers are changed or disconneted w/out a forwarding number. How can I reach some one in reference to some questions that I have. |
