Monitoring U.S. Homeland Security

My Thoughts

As I listened to the different broadcasts this morning about the death of Rosa Parks, the matriarch of the civil rights movement, my mind went back to the NAACP Gala that was held last Saturday night for the South Central Branch.  The event was very very nice.  Great speakers w/ strong messages and we got to hear from the new NC President, Rev. William Barber.   Unfortunately the room had wayyyyyyyyy too many  "empty seats".  As evident from the NAACP State Convention our senior citizens continue to be the strongest supporters of the organization.   How do I know??  I saw it there and I saw Saturday night.  Many of the senior citizens walking very slow others w/ canes but with very strong spirits.

Does this sound like a campaign or recruitment for the organization, YES it is.  I have not been as involved as I could have been over the years but I am seeing and understanding now how important and essential this organization is.   If you have children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, etc. so many of the decisions made today are going to impact them for the rest of their lives.  Can you imagine if there was a boycott of buses today, how many of us would stick with it for over 365 days; using any means other than a bus for transportation?

I urge you to invest the time, become involved in this organization.  How will it continue to strive if the current generations don't get involved?

Of course this is just my opinion and the way I feel, so let me get back to work I've said my two cents worth.

Have a great day and be blessed.
